Course Codes and Quality Points

NCSSM Online courses use NCSSM course codes and the NCSSM quality point scale:

  • 300-349: Introductory level courses.  Comparable to honors level courses at many high schools.  An A=5 NCSSM quality points.
  • 350-399: Accelerated version of 300 level course; course requires a NCSSM pre-requisite; courses taken by seniors only; courses at level higher than typical high school honors course.  An A=5.5 NCSSM quality points.
  • 400-449: Courses at the level of introductory college courses or help students prepare for the AP exam.  An A=6 NCSSM quality points.
  • 450-499: Courses that deal with topics beyond those of introductory college-level.  An A=6 NCSSM quality points.
  • Local School Code/GPA.  If a student dual enrolls, the course also appears on a local school transcript using a public school course code and title (listed here) and using public school quality points (A=5 quality points) except for AP titled courses.
