A unique two-year virtual program of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.

The program orientation allows each entering class to get to know each other and be ready for the NCSSM courses and expectations.
Our Online Program Welcome Day, scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday April 28, 2013 has session for parents and students on joining NCSSM. [The Residential Program Welcome Day is the day before] We cover dual-enrollment, choosing courses, and many faculty will be present to discuss their course. Additionally, Welcome Day permits us to ensure we have collected all information for enrolling at NCSSM.
Incoming junior students attend a summer residential orientation session held in summer (tentatively scheduled for 3 days between June 21 and 23 in 2013). At the orientation students are introduced to their instructors and fellow students, with a focus on team building and collaborative activities to build community among each new incoming class. The NCSSM Online team reviews the structure of the program and the steps they can take to succeed in an online class environment. Students receive orientation to the technology and software that is used throughout the online experience. There is limited space for incoming juniors to enroll in our summer symposium courses which are held after orientation.
During this summer orientation event, students will be housed with another NCSSM Online student in our residence halls. Part of our orientation activities include:
