What's your favorite part of your job as an Online Ambassador?
My favorite job as an NCSSM Online Ambassador is assisting future students on their applications. I am always there to provide aid and answer any questions they may have.

What's your favorite part of NCSSM Online?
My favorite part of NCSSM Online is the ability to participate in rigorous coursework, that is not found at my home high school.

What's the biggest challenge you've encountered in the Online program?
I think the biggest challenge I have encountered in NCSSM Online, is learning how to manage my time, so I can complete my NCSSM and home high school course work on time. I am not a very organized person and when I entered NCSSM Online this was a high learning curve for me.

What's an "aha" moment you've experienced in one of your Online classes?
Before NCSSM I had never worked with Excel before, my home high school never used Microsoft applications. After many fails, in trying to operate a spreadsheet, I finally got it. I have never quit using Microsoft Excel since then and it has made my life so much easier.

What are two of your greatest interests or passions?
I love classical music!! I have been playing the cello and violin since I was three years old. I also love to compete in scientific competitions, I am on the Avery High Varsity Science Olympiad team and Envirothon team.

During the pandemic, what have you missed most?
During the pandemic, I have missed all the senior activities that my school usually does, especially the pep rallies and homecoming festivities.

How are you coping during the pandemic?
At first it was hard, doing virtual school, but now I really like it because I get to spend the whole day with my dog, Tavish.

What are you looking forward to in the coming school year?
In this coming school year, I look forward to graduation and starting the next chapter of my life.

What words of wisdom do you have for Online students?
For the NCSSM Online students, I think it is really important to communicate with your instructor. Especially when you do not understand something.

Why should prospective students and their families consider NCSSM Online?
I think prospective students should consider NCSSM Online because working with and meeting new people expands your perspective. I believe that gaining a new perspective is a key aspect of becoming a well-rounded scholar.
