What's your favorite part of your job as an Online Ambassador?
Being able to share my experiences and the community I have become a part of is truly the most exciting part of being an Online Ambassador. Hearing the ambitions and passions of interested students motivates me to work harder towards my own goals.

What's your favorite part of NCSSM Online?
The community that comes from NCSSM is something that I treasure. I consider myself lucky to have friends like the ones I have found from the NCSSM Online program. I particularly love online weekends, because I get to meet people from all over North Carolina.

What's the biggest challenge you've encountered in the Online program?
Juggling a full AP and IB course load from my home high school as well as 1-2 classes in the NCSSM Online program was difficult when I first started.

How have you met that challenge?
Communication was key for me. By talking to my NCSSM teachers about any trouble I had in class, I felt a lot better about classes and I was able to work to my full potential with minimal stress.

What's an “aha” moment you've experienced in one of your Online classes?
Troubleshooting was always the biggest challenge for me in my Foundations of Data Science course, but taking breaks helped me decode my error messages with ease. It was always exciting when I was able to resolve an error!

What are two of your greatest interests or passions?
One of my greatest passions is languages. The potential to communicate with people from such a broad range of backgrounds and experiences is truly rewarding. Seeing the smiles on other's faces when you speak a language that they recognize is priceless.

If you had one year of freedom, what would you want to do?
I would love to travel the world and collect souvenirs from everywhere I went. On my trips, I would eat as much bread as I could.

What are you looking forward to in the coming school year?
As a senior, I'm looking forward to hanging out with my friends and enjoying all the events planned at school. I hope to make the best of my last year in high school!

What words of advice or wisdom do you have for Online students?
Speak up and ask your teachers or classmates if you run into any problems! Everyone is so helpful, and it's better to ask your questions before they snowball.

Why should prospective students and their families consider NCSSM Online?
The online program gives you access to the amazing opportunities at both NCSSM and your home high school. The quality of education and community that NCSSM Online provides is one of the biggest advantages of the program, and I would recommend the program for any student looking for a challenging high school experience!
